December was truly a month to remember, filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. Thanks to the incredible support from our community and the dedication of our partners, we were able to create lasting memories for several families and children. Our collaborative efforts resulted in four exciting events that brought smiles and warmth to all involved.
Magical Moments at the Center for Puppetry Arts
For our first two events, we teamed up with Georgia Kids Belong to send two wonderful families to the Center for Puppetry Arts. The families had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the whimsical world of puppetry, experiencing the classic tale of Rudolph. From the magical performances to the creative atmosphere, these families created cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Cheering for the DAWGS
Our partnership with Chosen for Life Ministries, based in Athens, allowed us to send a family of four to a thrilling basketball game to cheer on the DAWGS. The excitement of the game, the cheers echoing through the stands, and the delicious food made this event a highlight for the kids. Their joy and enthusiasm were palpable, and the experience brought the family closer together through shared celebration.
Holiday Magic at the Fox Theatre with Murphy Harpst Children’s Home
For our final event of the month, we joined forces with Murphy Harpst Children’s Home to create a magical outing for a group of amazing girls. The girls were so thrilled to attend Elf the Musical at the historic Fox Theatre. The laughter, music, and festive spirit of the show filled the evening with happiness, giving these girls a special holiday experience they will always treasure.

Georgia Kids Belong started in 2020 and is a pilot of America’s Kids Belong. Their mission is to improve the experiences and outcomes for Georgia kids in the foster care system. They have great programs to include the I Belong Project, Foster Friendly Businesses and Foster Friendly Faith Communities. Murphy-Harpst is an independent not-for-profit organization committed to meeting the needs of abused and neglected young people through residential treatment, placements in specialized foster care, and community programs that serve at-risk youth and their families. In partnership with the United Methodist Women national office, their services are available to all children regardless of sex, race, color, or creed, and whose needs can be addressed and treated within the scope of program services. Chosen for Life Ministries began ten years ago when a small group of people began to dream of a ministry that could raise awareness and provide support for adoptive families.
