June: A Month of Baseball and Musical Theatre
Another fantastic month of Happy GameDay events has come to a close, leaving behind a trail of joy, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. June proved to be a celebration filled with baseball games and musical theatre adventures, bringing smiles and cherished moments to children and families.
We were honored to collaborate with Georgia Kids Belong and Murphy Harpst Children’s Center, partnering with them to host four fun events that spotlighted the magic of community and shared experiences. At 2 different Rome Emperors baseball games, two groups of energetic young men cheered enthusiastically for their team, reveling in the electric atmosphere and indulging in all the classic baseball treats. As a bonus, one of the young men was picked to be the junior announcer for the game! He did a great job and had a blast! The crack of the bat, the cheers from the crowd, and the camaraderie of the group created memories that will undoubtedly be treasured for years to come.
Additionally, thanks to the generosity of one of our incredible supporters, a family of four experienced the joy of attending a Braves game. The stadium buzzed with excitement as they joined thousands of fans to soak in the summer evening and the thrill of America’s favorite pastime.
But the magic didn’t stop there! Murphy Harpst Children’s Center joined in on the fun, helping us to send a group of wonderful girls to see the iconic musical *Grease* at The Strand Theatre. The vibrant performances, catchy tunes, and dazzling costumes brought the story to life, leaving the girls spellbound. The fun continued as they enjoyed a delicious meal together, capping off an unforgettable outing.
None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our cherished community. Together, we continue to open doors to joy, adventure, and connection.

Murphy Harpst Children’s Home
Murphy-Harpst is an independent not-for-profit organization committed to meeting the needs of abused and neglected young people through residential treatment, placements in specialized foster care, and community programs that serve at-risk youth and their families. In partnership with the United Methodist Women national office, their services are available to all children regardless of sex, race, color, or creed, and whose needs can be addressed and treated within the scope of program services. Georgia Kids Belong
Georgia Kids Belong started in 2020 and is a pilot of America’s Kids Belong. Their mission is to improve the experiences and outcomes for Georgia kids in the foster care system. They have great programs to include the I Belong Project, Foster Friendly Businesses and Foster Friendly Faith Communities.
